In this postcard from paradise, a scene from village-life is captured in warm pastel hues bleached by the sun. On the horizon we see a ‘Jukung’, a traditional Balinese fishing boat and in the distance a woman ‘brings in the catch’ as she balances it on her head.

A second figure in the foreground, elegant and serene in her yellow sarong, takes a quiet moment beneath the shade of the palm trees fronds.
