In one vignette a lion and manticore sit beneath the glow of the sun and poke their tongues-out at each other while a crescent moon hangs between their chests. 3 Blemmyes or “headless ones” emerge joyfully from a forest clearing. The alchemical sun sits in his throne holding flowers, whilst a demonic imp licks a mushroom. Another reveller dances with flowers that stem from his bum whilst beaked snakes suspend a nude female from their mouths. The hanged man dangles upside down from a tree (the tarot symbol that suggests ultimate surrender, sacrifice, or being suspended in time) and arcane text is penned between each scene.
