Rambutan trees naturally grow throughout southern Asia and are native to Indonesia and Malaysia. The name ‘rambut’ means ‘hair’ in Malay. The rambutan is also known as the ‘hairy lychee’ as it looks and tastes very similar on the inside, but the outside is completely different.
