You can feel it’s someone important—or once was. The rose, still vibrant and red, is a force that reignites the love and life that once bloomed between them. The skull just sits there... what else can it do?
There’s a tenderness in the way she holds the flower, as if she’s gifting it to the skull, or to herself. She’s not mourning, not exactly—there’s something softer, yet more stubborn in her offering. The gesture hangs in limbo, as the melancholic love story lingers. Love doesn’t leave just because someone’s gone. It haunts you, like calling into an empty well and hearing only your own voice echo back, fading quietly as you sit alone.
Outside, the stars shine too brightly, as if to tease us about our impermanence. A falling star streaks across the night sky, its serpentine tail igniting thoughts of change, of moving forward through motion and mind. But inside, nothing moves. It’s just her, the rose, and the skull—three parts of a story that won’t end. A romantic catharsis, she’s a diehard clinging on, calling into the void to receive sweet nothing. Raw and surreal, life is both a memory and a dream. In the fading passage of time, all we have is our conviction.
