THE ARTWORK

This painting is like someone took the world, chewed it up, and spat it out onto a canvas. It’s chaos, sure, but it’s also the raw, unfiltered truth of human stupidity. Shakespeare had it right: “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.” Hell’s not some far-off place; it’s right here.

Vanity, greed, and emptiness keep the engines running, and it’s all downhill from there. You’ve got these twisted figures, each one a sad little metaphor for power struggles and people who’ve lost themselves in their relentless pursuit of success, exploiting everything in sight while forgetting what they truly are.

In the midst of it all, there’s a yearning for something deeper: mysticism, magic, a return to wonder and awe, as if somewhere beneath the chaos lies a truth we’ve forgotten to seek.

A bat clings to the sun’s fiery hair, snarling at demons. A parasite distorts its host’s neck, feeding a blue, limbless creature. Conjoined heads leer. A cynical demon with spotted flesh-socks smokes a cigarette. The schizophrenic sun oversees madness, surrounded by cryptic symbols. It vomits up a dark passageway, an offering and an opening to climb back from the underbelly to the light. A snail spirals toward legs with maddened masks while skull ghosts haunt a bleak horizon.

This piece demands we confront the darkness within. Tartarus isn’t a myth; it’s the pit we fall into when everything unravels.
