OGOH OGOH LILAC TENCEL / RAYON LONG SLEEVE SHIRT LIMITED EDITION of 100

Intricately painted vignettes hold various scenes from Balinese mythology. Monsters, spirits and foliage are speckled with sacred frangipani flowers and woven together using a ‘toile de Jouy’ style pattern.

FURTHER READING

Mythology can help personify notions of good and evil and the complex relationship man has to spirit. In Bali ‘Tilem Kesanga’ is the name for the new moon, a time that is dark when various spirits are said to roam the island.

Rangda grapples with some soldiers armed with Kris daggers (weapons that are also held as sacred objects) and the mighty Barong stares-down some dancing Leyaks as they act out the eternal battle between good & evil. The playful but sinister demon ‘Jauk’ emerges through the temple gates and a nameless red spirit (part human/part animal) guards her prized possession... a human skull.
